Music & Digital Asset Terms
Ownership, licensing, and resale rules for music and digital assets.
Last updated: April 2026
Ownership
Creators retain full ownership of their music and digital assets. Nimbus Novem does not claim ownership of anything you upload, create, or distribute through the platform.
Your work remains yours before, during, and after its time on Nimbus Novem.
Purchase Rights
When a user purchases a track or digital asset, they receive:
- Personal usage rights within the platform
- Download access (limited to a set number of downloads per copy)
- The right to resell within the platform's resale system, if enabled by the creator
Buyers do not receive:
- Exclusive ownership of the underlying work
- Rights to redistribute outside the platform
- Rights to claim the work as their own
Resale System
Nimbus Novem allows controlled resale of digital assets within the platform:
- Users may resell purchased assets within the system rules set by the creator
- Resale limits may apply (e.g., a maximum number of resales per asset)
- Resale price may not drop below the original purchase price
- Each resale is recorded in the asset's ownership ledger
Nimbus Novem is not a resale marketplace. The resale system exists to honor value, not to enable speculation.
Royalty Distribution
Each resale may generate:
- Royalties for the original creator
- A platform fee for Nimbus Novem
- Earnings for the reseller
Royalty distribution is automatic. The original creator earns from every resale in the chain, ensuring continuous value flows back to the source.
License Types
Creators may offer different license tiers:
- Standard license: Personal use, limited distribution, credit required
- Premium license: Commercial use, broader distribution, stem access may be included
- Exclusive license: Full rights transfer to the buyer — the asset is removed from future sale
License terms are defined by the creator and displayed before purchase. The buyer agrees to these terms at the time of transaction.
Prohibited Use
Users may not:
- Upload purchased music outside the platform for resale or redistribution
- Claim ownership of music or assets they did not create
- Bypass the resale system or download limits
- Strip metadata, credits, or ownership information from assets
AI & Content Use
Music and digital assets on Nimbus Novem may not be:
- Used to train AI models without the creator's explicit permission
- Redistributed as AI-generated derivatives without proper credit and licensing
- Scraped, harvested, or bulk-downloaded for any purpose
AI is a tool, not an excuse to bypass ownership. Creators' rights extend to how their work is used by machines, not just people.
Enforcement
Nimbus Novem may:
- Remove content that infringes on ownership rights
- Restrict accounts involved in unauthorized distribution
- Enforce licensing terms on behalf of creators
- Flag external platform usage detected by our systems
Enforcement is quiet and fair. We protect creators without creating spectacles.
